Question around Max Dim

I have a couple of red series dimmers that require me to set Max Dim Level to 85(%) due to the type of bulbs per troubleshooting issue here.

My question is - if Max Dim Level is set to 85% on the switch, when I’m writing automations in Home Assistant with service_data for brightness: 100(%) - is that 100% of 85%? Or is it over-riding the 85% max dim level setting on the switch?

Yes. The Brightness levels take the min and max brightness into account in the firmware. If you set the min brightness to 35% and the max brightness to 85% then:
Dimming level 1% = 35% brightness
Dimming level 100% = 85% brightness
