Red Series 2-1 Dimmer

Hello! Finally got a few of the red series switches in and installed. I had it tested, and integrated into Home assistant before putting it back into the box. Around this time we had a very short power outage. After power came back on, ~10 seconds, the switch LED will not light up anymore. I am guessing the power restoration fried something inside?

I have tried factory resetting the switch, but this does not do anything. Anything else I can try?

It is possible that a power outage could have caused a surge that took the switch out. However, it’s not clear to me if the switch was working properly at any point after you got it tucked back into the box and a cover plate put back on. I would pull the switch and double check the power and neutral connections to ensure they did not become unseated while you were tucking the switch back into the box.

I pulled the switch out and verified the wiring. The switch does not light up. I just swapped in a new red series dimmer in its place and it’s working as expected.

Sounds like it was a power surge. A lot of smart switches are particularly sensitive to them. I highly recommend getting a surge protector installed in your main breaker panel to absorb the surges at the point of entry.

That sucks. Happened within 10 minutes of installing, and can’t even order a replacement with it on back order…

I’d send an email to support and link them to this thread. They may have limited stock on hand for warranty replacements or returns.
