Red Series Dimmer, VZW31-SN, not pushing z-wave commands to assoication partner

Background:
I had a pair of VZW31-SN dimmers controlling a chandelier of 5 LED bulbs (there is a thread here on my initial issues). There was no traveller between the switches, so I had them in a “virtual 3-way” using a z-wave association. The association worked well, with the only issue being the switches would sometimes get out of sync on the dimmer setting. One of the original switches failed, and Inovelli replaced it (thank you very much!). The switch that failed was the one attached to the load, so I moved the partner switch to the location with the load wires and after minor re-programming it worked perfectly. Better, in fact, than the original unit at that location.

Ok, you’re all caught up. On to the issue.

I upgraded the switch to V2.01 beta while I was waiting for the replacement to arrive. I’m pretty happy with that version - it seems to dim smoother than 1.02. The new switch arrived with 2.01 installed, so I re-created the z-wave association and set the “master” switch (the one with the load, and the one exported to Alexa for voice control) to push both local and z-wave commands to the remote unit. Local paddle taps are pushed and work correctly, but z-wave commands are not. When Alexa turns on the Chandelier, the remote switch stays off. I’m using association groups 2, 3, and 4, just like before. This exact setup worked in 1.02, but does not work in 2.01.

Suggestions? Did I find a bug in the 2.01 code?

Anyone?
