I’m going to install the red switch today. I was wondering what the first thing I should do once I get power to the switch . I was thinking of doing the following
This will be a single pole switch and as I understand the red series comes single pole as default so no need to program this correct?

I was going to program the switch for a dimmer by holding down then pressing config button 3 times.
I was then going to test the switch for on/off and dimming. Once it works correctly I will pair it with Hubitat . Then config the settings within Hubitat . Now far as the drivers go for Hubitat can I just use the Hubitat driver or should I use the inovelli driver for Hubitat?
Does this sound like I’m taking the best step for setup ? Or should I just pair with hubitat soon as it has power ?
I typically pair with the hub as soon as the device has power. Then I use the hub to configure the switch’s options.
The Hubitat driver works, but doesn’t provide easy access to all the functionality. If you only plan to do basic things, that that will work. If you want to do more complex things, like using the LED bar in certain ways, then the Inovelli driver might be best.
It is possible to change the driver down the line, but it could impact some functionality as they don’t always set things up the same.
I personally prefer the Inovelli drivers and use them exclusively.
Thank you for the reply , any information on where I can find the inovelli driver for Hubitat and how to install them ? Also you think it’s best to pair the switch with Hubitat soon as it has power ? Then within hubitat I can change the settings for dimmer, single pole , ect ? Thanks again
In hubitat, there is a community app called « Hubitat Package Manager » (HPM). My recommendation would be to install that app first. Instructions can be found in the Hubitat Community (community.hubitat.com) by searching for its name.
Once this is installed, you can search for « Inovelli » and then chose the driver(s) you need.
The other option would be to get the driver you need from here:
Then in Hubitat, you will need to install it (there are a couple of steps required) and the community will be happy to help if you get stuck.
I would pair it as soon as it is installed, but either option works.
