In the process of upgrading my home’s wiring and electric, we replaced a set of two fluorescent tubes that each had their own switch (in a 2-switch box), with a single strip of LEDs, freeing up a switch.
I’m debating what to do with the now vacant switch - my initial thought was to put in a differently colored (White series) switch, and have it control scenes instead of a specific device. The thought was to have a “Big Red Switch” (maybe literally) that would trigger scenes like “All indoor lights on,” All indoor lights off," “All outdoor lights on,” “All outdoor lights off,” etc.
- Is this a feasible thing to do with a White series switch attached to Apple HomeKit, and if so…
- What is the proper way to wire the switch, so that it controls scenes, but doesn’t manage a specific device?
Thank you for the guidance!
