One of my Inovelli smart dimmer switches has started to turn on/off smart bulbs in an adjacent room. I am using the smart bulb functionality, but I have not added any new automations or helpers. I’m using bulbs from Third Reality in each room.
@hydro311 - Yes - running VZM31-SN. Homeassitant doesn’t show the version or I don’t know where to locate. I can see IEEE, Nwk, Device Type, LQI, RSSI, Power source, and Quirk: zhaquirks.inovelli.VZM31SN.InovelliVZM31SNv13I. am using the ZHA.
Some versions of the Blue firmware had issues with unsolicited bindings. I don’t have any zigbee devices on HA, but hopefully a fellow user may have some ideas.
If you are running Alexa, make sure that there are not any hunches turning the bulbs on or off. Alexa is notorious for creating hunches unbeknownst to the user.
I am running home assistant. If I toggle the switch then it is turning on/off two of the three smart bulbs in another room which are controlled by another Inovelli 2 in 1 smart switch.
I had this happen a couple of times early on. In each case, I completely redid the bindings on the switches, and explicitly sent unbind commands to the switches to the things that it seemed they sometimes controlled. Another time I completely reset the switch and started over.
I haven’t had this issue in many months.
This problem, when it occurred, was on earlier firmware, although I don’t know if that was related. I’ve also switched from ZHA to Zigbee2MQTT as I hated that on ZHA it was not easy to see what a device was actually bound to! Because ZHA doesnt show you the bindings, you can’t see if an unbind command was received and processed properly.
I’m not sure how it happened, but my theory is that the switches somehow ended up programmed to be bound to the wrong things. Whether it was trying to set up bindings for 20 switches one after another in short succession, some weird issue with firmware (someone noted this above), or a ZHA network issue, I really don’t know.
But, I would try 1) making sure firmware is up to date, and 2) for whichever switch seems to be doing this, consider completely resetting it and doing its setup over again.
