I just noticed the 1.05 firmware update for the White Series 2-in-1 Switch (inovelli-vtm31-sn) is finally rolling out on SmartThings. I know there has been talks of firmware updates rolling out to HomeKit users since end of last year, but I haven’t heard of anything for SmartThings users. I received a 10-pack of switches around Christmas (some I just finished installing today). I was going through my settings for the switches and one of them had a red dot and mentioned there was a firmware update. To get the process going on the other switches I had to visit SmartThings Advanced Settings and run the “updateFirmware” command since “checkForFirmwareUpdate” wasn’t doing anything. This caused SmartThings to both recognize there was a firmware update available and queue up the update. You can check the Attributes to see the status of the firmware update as well as watch the LED on the side pulse and slowly fill up with green as the update progresses.
