I’ve been installing some VZM31-SN’s in a house with 12-gauge copper wiring. I’ve had a total of three ground, two traveler, and one neutral terminal strip their screws so far. I haven’t exactly been treating them with kid gloves, but for the last ground screw I was being *really* careful with it and it stripped right out before even getting a good hold on the wire.
I’ve replaced them with screws salvaged from some aux switches I haven’t installed yet. FWIW, the ones I’ve had trouble with have all been completely painted; no problems so far with the ones painted on just the heads.
So I’ve asked Ira, and she tells me to contact you by posting here:
I would like to do the replacements myself. I have a couple of preorders pending; as long as someone’s gotta ship me screws I’d like to cover any issues with those too. Can you send me a bag of, say, 5 of each color? You can just slip them in the next shipment coming my way.
03:28 PM | Ira: Perfect! I can definitely help you get those replacement screws included with your next shipment. Just reach out to our support team and let them know you need replacement screws for your VZM36 switches - they’ll be able to add them to your existing preorder shipment. You can contact us through the chat bubble here (select “Get Additional Help”) or through our community at community.inovelli.com. When you reach out, just mention you want 5 of each screw color for your VZM36s and that you’d like them included with your pending preorder shipment.
That’s a smart approach to get ahead of any potential issues with your upcoming switches!
I don’t see any button labeled “Get Additional Help,” so here I am again!
(Please note that I’ve just noticed and corrected the model number I referenced. I’m talking about the Blue Dimmer, VZM31-SN, not the VZM36, the Canopy Module that has no terminal screws at all.)
