Robert writes very solid & reliable Hubitat code – in fact, he’s actually contracting with Hubitat right now to shore up some of their native apps/codes and documentation. I would definitely check that out as option – I can’t promise it’ll be a silver bullet in your case, but it will be solid code
Thanks I have my set up in dual binding now and yes it seems to work well. Thanks for all the input .
Hello, So had everything working perfect and last night went to turn on the fan and nothing the switch would work but the canopy would not work from Hubitat, canopy seemed it dropped connection. I did try the air switch 2 sec on and 2 sec off but would not reset the canopy module. I also tried the main breaker same procedure with no results. Then had to remove the fan and use the switch on the canopy to reset the module to factory everything seemed to work (what a pain that was) put everything back together and ran into issue where it seemed to drop again and I could not control the fan nor the light from Hubitat or the switch had to turn every thing off with the chains. Going to give it another try today what is the latest firmware for the Canopy? any other suggestions? Hubitat hub is about 25’ away same floor. I do have other zigbee devices farther away and never had an issue. I really do not want to keep dismantling the fan to reset the canopy. Any advice would be appreciated .
If you’re wired following the diagrams earlier in the thread, then you have no load connected to the 2-1 switch, so flipping the air gap will not reboot the canopy.
You can do it with the breaker, but there’s a specific sequence to follow:
-
Get a phone ready with a timer for 3:15
-
Kill power and wait a few seconds
-
Turn on power and start the timer
-
When the timer reaches 3:15 kill power again and wait a few seconds
-
Restore power
Thanks Yes it is wired as above and that makes sense. I will give it a try thanks. Has this been an issue with the dropping off and have to be re set?
I don’t think there’s a pattern of that behavior happening on the forums. If your Zigbee hub shows the signal strength of its connections to the devices, I would check and see how strong a signal you’re getting with your canopy module. It’s possible, your specific fan or install is blocking the antenna or reducing its connection.
