Use as a scene controller only?

Hello! I have been installing a bunch of white series dimmer switches in my house and its been going great!

There is one area that I am trying to figure out what to do with. I have a switch that controls an outlet and the outlet that it controls isn’t even useful. I would like to make the outlet stay permanently on and have power running through the white series dimmer just to use it as a scene controller (to control different smart outlets in the room). I’ve attached a picture of what the inside of the switch box looks like, just one cable with a black, white, & ground. Is it possible to do what I’m thinking? Would I just connect the black to line and white to neutral? Any help would be appreciated!

You have a switch loop between the switch and the outlet. That means power originates at the outlet. Connect the hot and neutral at the outlet to the black (for the hot) and white (for the neutral) and the grounds and that will provide you a hot and neutral at the switch.

If that switch only controls one of the two receptacles, there is a tab on the receptacle that was purposely broken to accomodate that. If you want both receptacles to work again, you’ll have to replace the outlet or use a pigtail to jump across the broken tab(s).
