Using AUX switch with Smart Dimmer and Smart Fan/Light Canopy Module

I have installed a ceiling fan, but it is unwired. I have purchased a Blue smart dimmer and Smart fan/light canopy module. I still need an AUX switch. There is currently a 3-way circuit controlling a light in the room. I intend to replace the 3-way combo with a Blue smart dimmer and an AUX switch. The fan will use a smart canopy module. The switch paddle will control the light and the config button will control the fan speed. Am I correct in assuming the the AUX switch will also control the light and fan speed in the same manner?
Also, I am reading that each control source in a multi-way system does not know what another source has done as in brightness or speed. So, a second control source will continue from its own last command output and NOT from what the first source commanded. Is this still the case?

Yes, it will work as you describe.

Do you mean the aux switch as a second command source? The aux switch just controls the dimmer so it will stay synchronized using it. The dimmer is the one doing all the work sending commands to the canopy module.

Maybe you mean another source like a hub? There are ways to keep things synchronized but I don’t do it so I can’t help. Others who use Zigbee can certainly help with how they do it.

Thanks for the reply. Understood on the AUX switch. It is dumb. It just relays switch operations to the smart dimmer.

For multiple command sources, it seems that if I was to control the switch, but not the canopy module, from Home Assistant, then there would be no conflict. The switch should be the only command source then.

I think that this settles it.

I’m not sure it’s that easy. That works with zwave, but I’ve read about people using groups for Zigbee.

I’ll find out when I get all of the devices installed. Hopefully there wont be any issue.
