VZM35-SN - very frustrated user

I got a standard hunter ceiling fan connected to it. (replaced a dead jasco fan switch)
and cant get it to full speed, the voltage never goes past 89VAC
using Hubitat as manage… (driver to me needs some love)
anyway… firmware at 1.07 (just did a reset for the heck of it, made no diff)
when at 100, only 88-90v ac

looking for help

so.. whats the deal
according to:
Blue Series Fan Switch • Parameters | Inovelli Help Center

parm 10 is 2-255 for max speed

hubitat: (unless its scaled in driver)

Neutral or non-neutral?

neutral (of course)

Put it in the on/off mode and see if your top end is any higher.

Also check to make sure that Hubitat is reporting it as a neutral.

sadly no change
measured from neutral to line 121v, neutral to load 90v

but alas it is reporting as non neutral
its wired, heck thats the terminal I’m using to measure from
and i got 2 other Inovelli switches in same box (red series switch)

good catch, now what

A couple thoughts:

1 Which driver are you using? (@hydro311 should be able to confirm)

  1. Hit the configure all button, or whatever it’s called. I’m away from my hub now and can’t look it up.

  2. Remove from Hubitat, factory reset and re-add

im using the inovelli package… and updated it today (but not a new problem)
driver: Inovelli Fan Switch Blue Series VZM35-SN (2025-08-22)
i did earlier before 1st post, did a factory reset and re added it back in

did the configure all, and no change still reports as non-neutral
and i checked wiring… its good

Is that the only one that you have? Are there others installed connected to hubitat working fine?

its the ONLY VZM35-SN

got a VZM31-SN, blue dimmer, and its reporting Neutral, but not an exact compare

Shooting in the dark here. Pull the switch out and remove the load conductor from the switch. Make sure it powers up without the load attached. If it does pull and reseat the neutral.

Since you only have one of these, it is a little difficult to isolate the problem to either the switch or to Hubitat.

i pulled the load off
the leds are dim…
also if i open the air gap, i expect it to completely turn off no?

DUh, line and load flipped
(chalk that up to 56 year old eyes)

all fixed, reporting Neutral in Hubitat

thank you for help!!

(i feel so stupid)
