I have installed 2 white fan switches using android / smart things.
There was no issue with setting up the switches / pairing.
Both are installed with neutrals to ac fans that have switches for the fans separated from the switches to the lights.
Both switches replaced enbrighten fan switches that worked without issue.
The problem is that when I change the fan to low medium and high, there is no difference in fan speed. If there is, it’s so minimal that I think I am making the difference up because I’m wanting there to be one. I tried with the fan on all 3 manual settings using the pull string but no speeds seem to change. The switch is set to 3 speed fan single.
The enbrighten switches changed the fan speeds with no issue.
Am I missing something?
Are there local setting for the speed each setting really means?
There is a dimmer slider under the fan speed but it seems that the percentages only correlate to the 3 fan speeds.(That don’t actually change the speed of the fan)
Any help is super appreciated! I didn’t see anyone with this issue in the knowledgebase.

EDIT: Found out that the problem is that the switch starts in Exhaust on/off mode, despite what the instructions say. You have to set it to ceiling fan mode to get speed control working.
In my case, I had to set it to the fan mode on the physical switch using the correct button presses. Changing the mode in smartthings did not work for me.
Same problem also with white fan switch. I am using Smarthings and the switch settings shows it as 3 speed ceiling fan in settings. The switch sidebar will transition from high to medium and low if you hold the paddle but the fan always runs on high. The smarthings app shows it as a three speed fan and controls the light bar but not the speed. Pairing was flawless and the switch controls the fan on/off but not the fan speed, Same result using the switch and smarthings android app.
I was setting it with the smartthings app. I tried configuring the switch to a 3 speed fan using the switch buttons and everything now appears to be working correctly. The app said it was corretly configured but it wasn’t until I configured it with the three click switch configuration. FIXED! THANKS!
