One (and only one) of my five White Series dimmers is showing FW V1.05 requested (see picture) but it already is showing that it’s on FW V1.05 (see other picture). It’s been stuck in this mode for about a week. One other switch was behaving similarly but has since self resolved. Other than that, the switch behaves as expected so this isn’t a huge problem, just something I want to fix before I add more switches.
I have tried the usual solutions (including pulling the air-gap to do a hard boot on the switch) but I have not done a factory reset (I plan on putting 10-15 more of these in the house if this initial run works out but if they require regular factory resets to keep then running that’s a non-starter.) I also haven’t tried home-assistant. I might if there’s not a more direct option, but right now I’m looking for something more straightforward to clear the stuck FW update message.
Have you tried rebooting the hub? The switch can let the hub know what firmware it’s on, but the process to update is on the hub side. If I had to guess, it’s an issue with the hub since it already knows the firmware is at the proper level, yet it is still displaying “Requested”.
AFAIK, if the firmware upgrade did not complete successfully, the switch would not report the new firmware version.
BTW: I have multiple devices that can act as a hub in my house. It’s not a big deal to reboot all of them, but any idea how to determine which device is acting as the hub? Or for that matter, whether that’s a static or dynamic thing?
