Hello, new to Inovelli. Jumped in with a new white series dimmer switch in my Apple Home. I can’t seem to get the scene control actions to work, however? The switch is working in dimmer mode fine, and is setup in my Apple Home all good. When I use Home to setup a double press in the switch scene control through Apple Home, however, nothing seems to happen when I double press the switch. What might I be missing?
Apple registers the 3 switches in random order. While you have the settings open on your phone to the screen where you set the single, double, long press actions. Use the switch. Press any button, watch your phone, it will give a brief highlight (white light up) of the button you clicked and whether it was a single double or long.
Identify which button is what. Then set your scenes according to that and try again. Give it a minute or so to sync up to the hub the new scenes you’ve assigned. Depending on your network it can be instant or up to a minute.
Hope that helps. This is an Apple problem. They register correctly in home assistant. Hopefully they fix this one day.
Thank you for the info. Will give that a shot!
Also, I like displaying the dimmer and led status tiles separately in Apple Home, but when I do, then the scene control seems to disappear completely. What’s going on there? Am I still able to combine the tiles, set the scenes, then separate the tiles and still use the previously configured scenes?
Yes. Combine the switch, set all the scenes and then separate them again. Not sure why it disappears but it’s still alive in the background. That’s how I do it at least.
Perfect. I was able to see the button get highlighted in Home when I performed the action on the switch. Works great. Thanks for the help.
OR! If you have >1 switch in the same room, you can group the LED light parts of all the switches in that room, and the switches for them will appear in that group so you can still have the lights in separate tiles. I do this where I can because I’m not doing anything manually from the Home app with the LEDs at present.
