I’m curious if any conclusion has been reached regarding the reports in this thread of fan switches overheating/melting.
Just an update, we gathered the defective units from those in the thread as well as one that was “buzzing” (not sure if that is an indicator of anything or not) and shipped them to the manufacturer. They got them at the end of last week but started looking at them this week. They have now shipped them to the capacitor manufacturer for further analysis.

Thank you for the update. I have one of these fan switches and am holding off on installing it since reading this thread. Any reassurance you can give once the investigation is complete will be appreciated!
Any update on this? I’m wary of installing the fan switch I purchased until more is learned/announced about this.
Did anything every come of this investigation by the manufacturer(s).
I’d love to order more fan switches but with this thread being essentially unresolved, I’m wary of installing them in my kids’ bedrooms as originally planned. So I’ve just stuck with the one I purchased as a trial unit.
