White Series Switch Intermittently Unresponsive

I know there’s topics about unresponsive switches and how to troubleshoot but my issue is a little different and I haven’t seen it posted.

My first 2 switches I bought arrived in August. I installed one in my office to test out and it had unresponsive issues. I then tried the 1.0.5 fw and that didn’t work. So I opened up the 2nd switch, replacing the first and then putting the 1st in another location.

Now… 1st switch in new location is working FLAWLESSLY and 2nd switch is having same issue!! I have my AppleTV as the hub permanently and its VERY centrally located so no switch in the whole house (aside from the garage) is more than 12ft away with one wall in between.

I wanted to say it was a fw issue but couldn’t be if one is working fine now and the other one now has the issue. Could wiring cause it to drop connection? I double checked wiring when I was switching them out. :man_shrugging:t5:

When you press and hold the program button til it turns green and release, what color is it? This is the thread connection: green good, yellow fair, red bad

I had a similar problem and eventually discovered that it was bad wiring in that electrical box. I replaced the wire nuts and the short wires in the box, and it has worked fine ever since. I don’t know if this is your issue, but it’s something to try.

It’s always been red for both switches even though this location is probably the closest to a hub.
