I see similar issues in the Eve and Nanoleaf apps, but I suspect it is how the switch is showing up rather than connecting via wifi. I don’t think the switch has a wifi radio (I could be wrong, but it’s not showing up as connected to my router). In the Eve app, under Thread Network, I have 6 “Routers” showing up in an “Unknown Room”. Could one (or more?) of these Thread Routers be my White Switch? It seems to be working fine, but understanding how it fits in the Thread network would be helpful for troubleshooting things in the future.
Eve apps and Nanoleaf apps are malfunctioning. I don’t know whether it’s the apps, or ios, but it is definitely a reporting issue in that part of the ecosystem.
First of all, these devices are Thread ONLY. They simply cannot communicate over wifi. If you can talk to them then they are on thread.
The nanoleaf app is simply confused and is reporting wifi as a fallback. The Eve app is a bit more broken and shows a blank page for me.
However, if you are using Home Assistant then you can see that they are most definitely fully on Thread network.
Bottom line: there’s no need to worry. They are working with Thread. It’s just a Nanoleaf/Eve/etc reporting problem. Sigh.
Two views of the same device below. One with broken nanoleaf app, the other with Home Assistant.
Got an update for the Eve iOS app and now all my White switches are showing up in the Network. To be clear they were always joined to the Thread Network just not showing up in the Eve generated list.
