White Series Switches Periodically losing Connection

I have about 65 white switches going and after figuring out my network router channels everything has been rock solid for about 6 weeks or so.

However, over the last week I have had 2 switches become “Unavailable” . Does anyone have best practices to get them going again? Or should I just do a factory reset on both of them and then get them reconnected? Does it cause an issue with the switch to do multiple factory resets on them. Just curious if anyone else has any insights.

I use Home Assistant as well so I didn’t know if there was a soft way to get them to reconnect which may be faster vs doing the hard reset

Power cycle them by pulling the air-gap switch below the paddle.

What border router are you using?

I had a lot of problems when I used to use Google Nest Border WiFi Pro 6e as my border routers - if that is what you have, also try restarting (power off / on) those. Apple TV is a much more reliable border router.

I’m sorry I should have shown this as solved Kaleb at Inovelli sent me some solutions but the air gap for 30 seconds was the answer

For the unresponsive switches, I would recommend the following steps to try and clear that error:

  • Pull the air gap on the switch for 30 seconds, this causes a power reset
  • If that does not work, try removing and re-pairing your switch to the hub
  • If you are still having the issue, then I would lastly recommend a factory reset

Factory resetting the switch should not cause you any issues, so you should be all set there.
