White Series will not connect to Apple Home

I got 10 switches installed in a new addition and have been trying to set them up. I have thread home hubs all over the house with Apple TVs and HomePod minis and plenty of existing thread devices that are rock solid.

But these Inovelli switches have me stumped. I cannot get them to finish the setup in the Home app. They connect (after factory resetting and scanning in) and then get stuck on the “setting up” until eventually it fails. I have tried moving a HomePod mini immediately next to the switches and made that HomePod the home hub as well.

I was able to get one switch to fully set up, but the other 9 of them can’t do it.

I have tried searching everything I could for a solution, but everything (besides a full Apple home reset) suggested has not worked. I am unwilling to reset and read my entire apple home set up. I doubt 9 of 10 could have an issue, but I also don’t know how my thread network could be an issue.

Does anyone know what the issue could be? I have never had issues with thread or matter devices in the past.

I have about 75 of them installed and have found that, in many cases, even when they are “fresh” from the factory, I have to do a full reset before pairing them. To do a full reset, hold the top paddle and the config button down until the LED indicator bar turns red (about 20 seconds).

I have also found an odd event that if a device doesn’t pair, sometimes I can come back the next day and it will work. I’ve found this for multiple brands, not just Inovelli. I’m thinking that Apple may do some kind of nightly backup / cleanup routine to its hub databases that somehow “fixes” an issue. Pure conjecture on that one.

Lastly iOS / tvOs 18.5 seems better than prior versions. I’m also experimenting with tvOS 26 developer beta which implements an update thread 1.4 border router. Seems to work better, but the full release of that is a while away.
