White Smart Dimmer not working in Smart Bulb mode

Hi everyone, I have my first two Inovelli switches installed and they are both White Matter/Thread Smart Dimmers. I am using Eero/Amazon Echo as my hub. I had an electrician help me install them.

They both work in On/Off Mode and Dimmer Mode but in Smart Bulb mode one of the switches is not activating the routines when the top or bottom switch button is pressed. However, the LED panel changes color when I hit the button. The other switch works just fine in Smart Bulb mode and activates the routines to turn on/turn off the lights.

The routines are set up the same on both switches, press the top button to turn on to a certain brightness and color and press the button on the bottom to power off.

However, I can activate/power on the Switch that is not working with the Alexa app just fine. So it’s getting the signal.

I really have no idea what to try next and any help would be appriciated.

Thanks

First, confirm that the problem switch is in the Smart Bulb Mode. Is the light illuminated continuously, and paddle presses up and down won’t cut power to the bulb?

If that is good, the next thing to check would be the Button Press Delay, if that parameter exists. With other series, the usual culprit of button events not being recognized is that delay is set too low and the presses aren’t recognized.

Unfortunately, I don’t have any whites, and the link in the online manual to the parameter table does not exist. So I’m not sure if that is a parameter for the whites. Hopefully someone with a white can provide further information.

If you do find a Button Press Delay setting, set it to 500 ms (the default for Blues and Reds).

You can also try factory resetting the switch, which will change that setting back to the default, if it exists.

I found this:

To enable the button delay and allow a 500 millisecond delay between the time you tap the switch to when the light turns on or off on your White Series 2-1 Switch, hold down on the bottom part of the paddle (off) while simultaneously tapping the configuration button seven (7) times (do not let go of the paddle when finished tapping the config button). Wait for the LED Bar to flash solid yellow (and then let go of the paddle) indicating the switch has enabled the Button Delay Mode. Remember that when there is a 500ms delay enabled, you will have the ability to create multi-tap scene control automations.

I’m going to try that.

Yep, that’s it. I missed it in the quick tap table.

Disabling Instant-On and enabling the 500ms delay did not work so I factory reset the switches and now I can’t pair the one that was working, it can’t find it when I scan the QR code. But I paired the switch that wasn’t working and it’s working now.
