Z-Wave mmwave switches bricked

I have 2 Red mm-wave switches that stopped responding to Z-Wave commands or presses on the paddle yesterday. Both switches are stuck in the off position. The LED bar does not change, and indicates they are in the off position. Both are running firmware v2.2.0.

For one switch (Switch A), I pulled the air-gap and pushed it back in. The switch started responding to both Z-Wave and local commands. The problem now is the light won’t turn off, it only fades down and the switch shows it as off. I scrolled through the Z-Wave settings and didn’t see anything obvious to change for this, I even changed it to on/off mode and the light still doesn’t turn off. I performed a factory reset of the switch, initiated from both the z-wave controller and the switch itself, but it still does not turn the light off, only fades down.

For the unresponsive switch (Switch B) I have not performed any troubleshooting steps, as I believe they have the same issue and I would like to resolve it on switch first.

I have 9 Red mm-wave switches throughout my house, and these are the only 2 believed to be acting up.

Any ideas how to fix these 2 switches?

There isn’t much more you can do beyond the factory reset. I’d try it on the 2nd switch.

If it doesn’t work properly immediately after a factory reset, it’s probably defective. Do an RMA. [email protected]

Thanks for the advice @Bry. I was able to successfully pull the airgap and get the second switch working.

I’ll send an email about the first switch.
