Blue - Dimmer: Lights Turn on, or Dim. But never off

Hello, I got my first switch today and was super excited to have something with options for non-neutral setups.

Situation:
Single-pole, no neutral wire, on/off mode (no dimmer bulb), non-smart bulb mode, connected to Home Assistant.

After wiring in load and line, and then turning power back on, it quickly went into a mode where either bulb was on, or where bulb was dim/low-power. And nothing else.
I synced it via MQTT in Home Assistant to see all the settings, and made sure smart bulb mode was turned off, on/off mode instead of dimmer mode, etc. Yet no luck.

Is there where I would need the bypass possibly up in the light fixture?

I’m sure its an easy answer, just hoping to get pointed in the right direction. I have so many switches without neutrals and I really want these to be the answer. Thanks in advance.

Without a neutral, the switch will leak power through the dimmer circuitry to the load (the bulbs) to power itself. If the bulb is particularly sensitive (or there’s only one of them), it can still light up. Adding one (or more bypasses) should fix it.
