I am walking through my new house with the electrician, making sure all the switches are set to go to the proper lights or fans and that all the multi-way groups are set up properly.
I’ve got just over 100 inovelli switches in here, dimmers, fan controllers, smart on/off +humidity and add-on switches. The quick tap setup for the dimmers and fan controllers are fairly easy (I’m referring to the “hold up, click config 3 times to set the dimmer to dimming mode etc…) No issues setting up all my multi-way groups, getting fan or dim behavior set up, eliminating the click noise and reducing the delay…. I’ve found several cases where a dimmer was installed instead of a fan or add-on and vice versa.
My issue is that I don’t see the instructions for setting up the smart on/off switches with humidity sensor, rather I see some instructions but the “quick tap” setup seems to link to the dimmer instructions.
My questions are:
what are the quick tap commands for the blue smart on/off with humidity sensor switches (the current instructions list a way to put them into dimming mode, which I assume isn’t correct)
Are these switches identical to the smart dimmers just with a humidity sensor, meaning you can set them into dimming mode but they would have problems with running an exhaust fan load?
How can I tell them apart from the smart dimmer and fan controllers with the electrician, before I bring my servers in (will be home assistant) hopefully without removing them all from the wall? (right now I can put the switch in dimmer mode or ceiling fan mode, and the dimmers gradually dim, the fan switches go up and down in thirds, and the add on switches don’t have an led…. I’m looking for the instructions and hoping that there’s some behavior I can use to tell them apart, and program them initially correctly)
You’re correct that the Combo page for the On/Off is missing. @Lance_Inovelli
No. This switch is relay based for the load. I believe it can act as a dimmer if the switch is bound to another device, but the load is always On/Off. @rohan can confirm.
Look at the face of the strap.
The fan switch will say " . . . Fan only" to the left of the switch
The dimmer will display a max incandescent load of 600W, lower right
The On/Off has a higher rating 960W incandescent load, so that should be displayed on the strap. I don’t have any production units to confirm, however.
I can confirm that the smart on/off +humidity sensing switch has an inc rating of 960 in the bottom right.
Do you happen to know the proper quick tap commands so I can set the on/off switches up before bringing my home assistant server in ?
I’m looking to have them operate an exhaust fan and a light, simple on off, no clicking if possible, and instant, not any kind of multi-way config either.
I believe the default settings will work for you without needing any quick taps for initial setup. One thing to note though is that it will always click when turning on/off. This is just how the relay works.
@Bry, @christopher.w.shaw , Give the link a try I think I have it created and pointing in the right direction now. If you see any errors please let us know.
The link: “Standard Button Combination Table” links to “White Series On/Off Button Combination Table”
The link: “Quick Tap Sequences Table” links to “White Series On/Off Button Combination Table” indexed down to the quick tap sequences table
The link: “Local Configuration Table” links to the White series instructions as well.
The written instruction on the page still refer to a dimmer mode, which, I may be mistaken, but if its a relay it wouldn’t act like a dimmer?
I’ll make sure I’m clearing my cache and try again, but I figured if I saw the update notice on the page I was hitting the non-cached version…
