Recently one of my 33 Red Series dimmers just stopped working. I have tried resetting firmware, rewiring, but nothing seems to help. When I cut power and turn it back on (or when rewiring), it would work for a little bit, then in an hour or day it would go back to not working. Lately even power cycling does not help.
I’ve found similar issues in an old thread (and my switches are from that era, Sept 2020), though my switch would not “appear” normal, the LED would just go off and not react to button presses or zwave signals (despite showing zwave connected):
This very much seems like a hardware or firmware issues. It’s weird that it only happened to one of my switches, and not in a three way setup. I may have tried to update the firmware on this once upon a time, but not immediately before it stopped working, and I did at least one factory reset while troubleshooting. The switch has worked fine since I installed it in late 2020. Any thoughts? I don’t mind taking it apart since I’m way out of warranty, but if it can’t be fixed I’d at least like to know this issue got solved in newer models before I get a replacement.
