Filed on GitHub: [Bug Report]: Red Series 2-1 Switch (VZW31-SN) - 2.01 / 2.02 - Home Assistant (Z-Wave JS UI) · Issue #21 · InovelliUSA/Firmware · GitHub
Short version: on 2.01 and 2.02, VZW31-SN switches wired multi-way with a dumb toggle stop detecting the load state. With the dumb switch in one position the LED bar stays lit and the hub reports ON while the light is actually OFF. The up paddle does nothing and the down paddle toggles the light both on and off, because the switch is acting on an internal state that’s inverted relative to the load.
It looks like the same dimming-algorithm/dumb-detection regression that hit Blue and White dimmers. Those got the “Dumb Test” sensitivity adjustment; the Red 2-1 has no equivalent that I can see. Also, I am unable to downgrade to 1.04, the last-known working firmware. OTA downgrade fails at 100% with Error_InvalidFirmwareTarget, so there’s currently no working firmware for this configuration.
Happy to test betas. I have a working and a non-working dumb multi-way on identical firmware. Thanks.
