Experiencing unresponsive at the paddle on mine, with version 1.0 including even before pairing to any matter controller. Updated to 1.0.3 and still unresponsive. Though matter can still communicate and control device.
Please do a factory reset after the FW update, maybe even remove and re-commission.
Data point: after updating to 1.0.3 and seeing no improvement, I pulled the air gap once again. Itās now been responsive for about 4 days so far.
Anything else unique about your configuration? I have seen better and better reliability with 1.0.1, 1.0.2, and 1.0.3. Yours is the first case where I havenāt seen it resolved. You might have already answered this, but what is the load?
Anyone else using 1.0.3 and had issues with it? Especially interested if 1.0.1 or 1.0.2 worked well and 1.0.3 reverted things back. So far I have been running 1.0.3 on and on/off loop for several days and it is going strong.
@EricM_Inovelli How do we update the firmware through Apple Home?
To clarify, it has been holding well with responsiveness since pulling the air gap, after the update. Going on 4 days. Will update if it becomes unresponsive again.
Not sure thereās anything of note about my setup, given that the Matter side of things seemed not to be related as originally the device would become unresponsive after a full factory reset
The switch is connected to a bathroom exhaust fan, with a neutral wire
I have to send you an Apple Test Profile that you can install to allow the test firmware to be installed. PM me with your email that is linked to Apple Mail on an iOS device.
I didnāt realize this was for test firmware; will the switches automatically get official released firmware through Apple Home?
Just got my boatload (35 or so) Inovelli White On/Off switches installed (woohoo)!
Iām using this with a Home Assistant (HA) Yellow box. They all have (obviously) Firmware 1.0.0. I see @EricM_Inovelli posted a link to a JSON file above, but no instructions on what to do with it. Iām sure Iām missing something, but can anyone provide a quick step-by-step for how to use that file to update the firmware, using Home Assistant?
And one issue I ran into is that it was 1-2 days between when the electricians put in the boxes and I tried to add them to Home Assistant. HA refused to get past the āConnectingā step on my phone. I stumbled on the solution being to pull the Air Gap switch and push it back in. After that, it worked easily. So Iām suspecting thereās some maximum time it will wait for a connection for and then disengages pairing mode. If thatās intentional, would be good to put in the manual online someplace as a note. If itās not intentional, then something to consider fixing.
Thanks!
@nammers yes, but it has to get certified through the CSA (so it can take a while).
@mem10123 I will send you the instructions.
Can I get firmware update instructions for home assistant
@RickZaki I sent a PM
I posted another thread but since this one has tractionā¦.
Iām getting horrible delays (often 1-2 seconds or complete non response) with my White On/Off switch and Home Assistant. Monitoring in.Home assistant for the event stream, definitely seeing that lag. Occurs whether or not I change the switch delay from 300ms to Instant to 900ms. Seems to make zero difference. Kinda wondering if the switch is stuck in a large delay? Or something else going on.
Anyone else with some experience?
Just a data point, but no Iām not seeing delays. 1) touching paddle on/off very much sub-second. 2) Have a motion sensor that triggers an HA Automation to turn on the VTM-30 and the sequence is also much sub-second. Still using 1.0.0, and 300ms delay.
Got it.. How are you connecting the Home Assistant to the switches? Like built-in to the HA Yellow/Green boxes, a ZBT-1, or ZBT-2 connector? Other data points definitely helpful. Originally a ZBT-1, now a ZBT-2 for me. Oh, and the minimum delay I ever see is probably a second. Often itās 2, and sometimes 5 seconds, or it never responds at all.
Also, to confirm, from your description, is your Inovelli VTM-30 set in Smart or Dumb bulb mode? From your narrative, Iām suspecting Dumb bulb mode in that your automation needs to set the Switch to on? (Versus just setting the Hue Light to On, for example).
OTBR AddOn using Skyconnect (aka ZBT-1).
Yes Dumb bulb mode.
Got it! For the few (exhaust fans) I have in dumb bulb mode, those are working for me as well with a reasonable response time as well, so thatās consistent. Thanks for the info! Def curious if any smart bulb folks have some experiences to share too.
Somehow hoping itās not just my setup because if itās systemic, itāll be for the Inovelli experts to sort ![]()
Sorry to be late to the party but Iām having the same issue and would love to update to the latest firmware before my wife makes me uninstall all of these switches ![]()
@EricM_Inovelli would you mind to send me the instructions?
Also, I had these installed by an electrician so I would hope there is no wiring issue. However, one of the switches (controlling a lighting load) recently started turning off and blinking red 3 times. It worked great for about a month then this started. Any thoughts on this? Does it have to be a wiring issue?
This is for a White series, right? A 3x red has different meanings on the different lines.
I donāt have any whites so I canāt confirm, but a couple of settings changes use red to confirm. Do you notice any settings changes on the switch after seeing the 3x red blink?
Iād probably factory reset the switch to see if that resolves it.
Iām not aware of a wiring fault that would cause a 3x blink. A wiring fault can cause the switch to reboot, but on a White, that doesnāt result in a 3x red blink, AFAIK.
Good afternoon,
Yes, it is a white series on/off switch. Sorry for the lack of clarity. I have not changed a single setting on the switch.
When the issue happens and then I pull the air gap, the switch will work for 5ish seconds then the light shuts off and the 3x red blinking happens again. If I leave it alone for a day or so, it will work again for awhile but the issue consistently comes back.
Iāll try a factory reset tonight, thanks for the reply.
