White switch Apple Home

Generally-happy user here, just wanting to add my +1 to some parameter (likely would need to be prior to commissioning) to disable lightbar-to-homekit passthrough.

I’m actually torn on this because I like the idea of using it for status notification around the house, but having it interfere with Siri commands is a real pain point. Haven’t read the matter spec to see if a “status indicator” is a thing (and then, obviously, would have to wait for homekit adoption), but that sounds like it’d be optimal.

I had hoped to add the LED bars to a separate room so they wouldn’t pick up siri commands as easily, but it appears (at least under the most recent iOS as of 23-JUL-2025) that if you move any part of a multi-endpoint device to another room, all other endpoints follow it. I’m thinking I might be able to dance around this issue via Home Assistant, so I’ll probably be giving that a shot.

Again, love the hardware, happy with the purchase, excellent product - just adding my $0.02 to a request for a stopgap solution of “don’t pass LED bar onto homekit.”

This an Apple issue and its a problem for all devices having multiple endpoints. A solution would be to have an option in iOS for Siri to ignore certain devices, but good luck getting Apple to make changes. For now Home Assistant is the best solution. Add the device to Home Assistant first, then bridge back just the dimmer endpoint from Home Assistant to iOS.

Some good news - looks like you can finally hide the switch tiles in iOS 26!

(though on the downside, each button shows up as a separate tile now)

Would you mind clarifying?

Good news! So much better with the Home view decluttered.

I also confirm that each White switch now creates 5 items in Apple Home if you “show as separate tile:” 1 for the switch, 1 for the LED bar, 1 for each of the 3 programmable switches. I can live with this.

Haven’t yet confirmed if the assignment of the programmable switches is still random, but it seems like that may still be the case.
