If you are a backer they sent an email update on 1/3.
Hmm, I am a backer… But I don’t think I received it. I checked my spam. Maybe I didn’t sign up properly. Is there any web page version that I could view? Or could it be re-sent to me?
You can check igg here:
But it sounds like they’ll be emailing updates out from now on, so make sure your email is up to date with indiegogo.
Project Update:
We are still working on the hardware around the lux sensor and I think we’ve finally gotten to a place where we can move forward with tooling. We should be receiving the final version next week for approval with all the changes we requested.
Simultaneously, they will be releasing the first round of firmware so we can get a head start on testing it while they produce the beta units, so things should really start picking up here (thank God).
Here is the latest (and hopefully final) look at the switch:
Here it is mocked up next to the Blue 2-1:
Aartech doesn’t have these to pre-order in Canada…is this something you could setup with them or ZWP, please? I’d like to pre-order a few Red Switches, thanks!
“Monthly” update coming soon?
He has it in his calendar to update projects in the forum today but unfortunately is out sick! So give him an extra few days to get caught up!
Project Update: We’ve received the second round of beta units with the corrections we asked for in the last round. There are still a couple things wrong with it that I’d like to see fixed before we open up tooling.
Next steps are to talk with them tomorrow (Wed) to understand if these couple issues (ground screw plate issue and diffuser issue) are due to the 3D print of the switch or what happened as they were listed on our last round of feedback.
They’ve also loaded on the firmware, so @EricM_Inovelli will be testing the initial firmware so that when we give the official beta units to the testers, it will be 90-95% complete.
Any timeline updates for the beta units and eventually production units (if testing goes well)?

“Monthly” update coming soon?
It was given on the Zigbee thread and not linked here: Zigbee / Matter Motion Switch | Project Linus (Blue Series) - #499 by Eric_Inovelli
Time for a June update!
@Eric_Inovelli sent the following via email on June 13th. Copying it here for anyone who missed the update.
Hey all,
Quick update about the Blue Series mmWave switch – we will be receiving our beta samples (finally) next week (pictures below) and can finally start beta testing. The good news is that Eric M (CTO) and I have been testing these out for a while now and wanted to get it in a good spot for beta testing. There’s been a lot of difficulties with the mmWave sensor that we had to work through, but we feel ready to let the bigger team start testing.
In addition, the switches have started ETL Certification, FCC Certification, IC Certification and are progressing nicely.
Part of this process also includes setting up a trial-production run, which has been completed.
In terms of the overall timeline, I’ve come to just accept that there will be delays and while any delay we take is disappointing, at the end of the day, I want you guys to have an amazing switch that you’re excited to have in your home. Our standards are, and have always been, extremely high (we put these in our own homes too), so sometimes that can cause initial timelines to become more fluid.
It’s possible we may still hit the July production schedule, but that will all depend on how beta testing goes.
The important thing is that we continue to see progress, which we have. This manufacturer has done things a little differently, in that they like to get as much completed as possible before sending off beta units whereas our other manufacturer takes the approach of building our switches together, which means the first couple iterations may not be on par with our expectations. In other words, the mmWave manufacturer takes the approach of getting their ducks in a row before sending off for us to test and the other one is more of a, “build it as you fly it” type manufacturer. We prefer the latter, but I’m not sure which approach is right/wrong.
Anyway, as always, we appreciate your patience as I know we’re way behind schedule and I know you all are excited about this project.

For those that wanted/want to switch to Thread/Matter, we are still trying to lock down pricing with them – they’ve been trying to gouge us on firmware costs, which we find unacceptable. We’ve also sent out an RFP to our current manufacturer to just take over the Thread/Matter version which I’m waiting to hear back (should be next week).
Have a great weekend!

We’re testing the Zigbee/Z-Wave at the same time so all comments from that thread are relevant to this one.
Edited to add: if you haven’t been receiving emails, please sign up for status updates here as I do try to release emails as much as I can: mmWave Presence Sensor Smart Switch (Radar Equipped Millimeter Wave) – Inovelli

Just making sure I’m following here (one of the two 50-pack backers for the Red series mmWave)… (@Eric_Inovelli - I did sent a DM over, I think… and a message on Indiegogo since my e-mail addresses are different).
@Eric_Inovelli @EricM_Inovelli : Any idea how configuration of mmWave zones might work for this switch? I’m trying to wrap my head around how to incorporate this capability into my automations. Will zones be supported in the switch firmware (enabling specified zones to be included or excluded from motion events) so they can be directly applied to on/off control of the switch? Will active zones be reported as motion sensor events to a hub so they can trigger automations based on the activated zone(s)? It seems like motion might trigger a number of zones, which would make automation a little tedious with each zone reporting motion. For my use case, I think the ability to simply exclude a specified list of zones in the switch configuration would be sufficient, and then zwave motion events reported to a hub would reflect motion anywhere in the enabled zones. But I can see the value in reporting specific motion zones as well. Thoughts?
I was looking at my indiegogo contribution today and mine just specifies 5 pack. Not red or blue. How do I make sure I receive zwave switches?
If you looks at the details, the image should have red in it, and the description, at least of mine, specifically mentions Z-Wave and to pick something else if I want Zigbee.
Oddly, though, my page only shows the stretch goal perk I added when I thought I too had ordered a 5 pack.
Mine doesn’t say zwave or zigbee. Just 5 x Inovelli mmWave Switch. I backed before there was a choice.
