I’m having an issue with my switch. Admittedly, it’s in a decent sized room (about 15ft x 12.5ft) and the switch is on a side of the room so accomplishing full motion detection would be tough in the room. Also, I understand that the detection range is a cone and the maximum distance is about 20ft. My issue is that when I stand right in front of the switch, it can only detect up to 10.2 ft (so about half of the maximum range). I have set both my depth (far) and width (right) parameters to the max (600) and it looks like the switch applied those. Didn’t make any difference. The ranges at other angles are also low (about half of expected).
Do I have a defective switch or could there be another reason why the detection range seems so much worse than expected?
The switch is beside a vertical trim and while that could affect the width (although my understanding is that it shouldn’t), that should not affect the depth in any way as the trim isn’t in the way.
