ZHA not finding new devices

Last week I attempted to swap out a light switch to one of my inovelli switches and once it was wired when I went to add the switch ZHA just spun in circles and eventually couldn’t find it. I tried another inovelli switch and same problem, both were in pairing mode and I reset them mulitple times and still couldn’t find any new devicess adding them through ZHA. I recently decided to switch to zigbee bulbs and I went with the Sengled bulbs and when I went to add those I had the same problem. However, two of the bulbs did some how connect to my ZHA network but not through the traditional means of adding a device, when I went to the vizualization of my network I randomly found the bulbs connected even though when I went to add the device nothing was found. Those bulbs are working correctly so I decided to add another in a different spot and I’m unable to add that one at all. I did a test this morning with one of the inovelli switches and atempted to add it in a different spot in the house and it won’t find the device. All of my zigbee devices that were previously connected still work just fine it’s just adding new ones I’m not able to do. Any idea or fix as to why this is happening? I’m using the sonoff zigbee 3.0 plus dongle.

A couple questions to start, but this makes me think of a signal/interference issue especially when it’s happening on multiple different devices.

  • How many zigbee devices do you have, and what kind of devices?
  • What is the hardware that this is running on, and is your zigbee dongle directly plugged in, or do you have an extension cable?

I have 10 devices currently hooked up, 8 blue switches and 2 of the Sengled bulbs. I’m running home assistant on a stand alone intel NUC and the sonoff 3.0 plus dongle with an extension cable.

All of the other switches are fine? And for your extension cable is it USB2 or if it’s 3 is it plugged into a USB2 port?

So no matter what I did I couldn’t get ZHA to find devices, so I swapped to zigbee2MQTT. Everything pairs just fine and I don’t have any issues. I am confused when changing automations I no longer have all of the options for the different amount of button presses to do different things like I did in ZHA, I only have up single atcion down single action and config triple action. How to I set automations back to having more options like before?

I’d recommend either using rohan’s blueprint or manually specifying the triggers should work as shown here.

Thanks I appreciate it, got it all figured out.
