Also waiting for a fix for this. I just installed my first VZM31 yesterday and I can’t get the flickering to stop unless I remove the switch from my zigbee network (zha, home assistant). Once I add it back to the zigbee network it slightly changes brightness every 10-30 seconds. I tried setting parameters 18 and 20 to 0 but the behavior was the same. I wasn’t able to set parameter 19, it seemed to be stuck at 3600 in zha. I tried restarting my home assistant, rebooting the switch (via air gap), but the flickering on zigbee remains. I run Home Assistant 2025.11.2 and use a ConBee II Universal Zigbee 3.0 USB Gateway with about 25 other zigbee devices.
I like the options on this switch and would like to keep it, but I need the zigbee to work. I add it to zha to update the parameters and then need to remove it.
Did not read the whole post, but do you happen to have parameters 9 (min) or 10 (max) set to anything besides default?
Had same issue on newest driver on hubitat- VZM31. I thought maybe setting the max at 95% would help, just made the LED bulbs flicker at full brightness. Removed to default setting for param 10 and full brightness works perfect. Just changed parm 9 back to default and the flickering stopped when I had the lights dimmed.
Hmm. I’ll give that a shot. They were both set at default: 1 (min dim) and 255 (max dim). I’ve adjusted those to be 3 and 253 to see if that resolves the issue. Thanks
@EricM_Inovelli, any chance this is till in the works? I’m either gonna have to get these to stop flickering, get new switches, or end up being single.
I don’t work for Inovelli, but I can tell you the fix is in the works. There’s been a couple of beta firmware versions being tested actively for the VZM31 that have resolved this problem for most people. I think @EricM_Inovelli is working on a couple of other bug fixes before releasing it but it should be coming soon.
I just finished updating all the switches in my house to (Blue Series Dimmers). My wife just asked me to dim the lights in the TV room.. I was so excited that I didn’t have to get up, I whipped out my phone and dimmed the lights. About 10 minutes later she pointed at the lights and said they are flickering… at first I didn’t believe her, but then I noticed it myself.
I fear that I may be getting a divorce soon if new firmware isn’t released soon. Is there anywhere I can get the beta firmware to verify this will fix the issue?k
Hi everyone, sorry about the delayed response here but we have been working in the background to resolve this issue and those that have tested the firmware (3.01+) say the issue has been resolved for them. This device has many thousands of units in circulation so we are being extremely careful not to release a buggy firmware out to all users (we are wanting many people to test it) but anyone that wants to install it to resolve their issue we have fairly simple instructions if you want to reach out to me or support. I would hate for marriages to be ruined over this!
I have been using the beta firmware for a day and it does appear to fix the flickering. I have not noticed any flickering at all so far at any brightness level.
Same experience here. v3.04 fixes flickering issues and also invalid overTemp alarms when the ambient temps approach the low temperature operating limit. I tested 3 different A19 style bulbs that previously had flicker issues and problem is resolved on all of them.
