My white series fans have a tendency to go offline after a matter-server reboot and occasionally after power blips. Occasionally fan switches will stop responding on the matter network and go offline and never come back. The light switches don’t do this and I know the light switches are on a more recent firmware. Additionally there are network changes (i hear) in the new beta white series firmware. When will there be new firmware available for light switches and fans to see if it resolves this issue. Pulling the gap on the switch restores the switch so it is simply giving up trying to join the matter network.
I’m having another issue with the fans in that in home assistant when the inovelli matter fan switch is shared via the alexa integration to expose entities, the inovelli fans fail to expose. I can create a template fan and link to the fan and that entity exposes fine, I’m wondering if there is anyone else that has experienced that problem and if there is any chance the way the fan is exposing itself to the matter server is causing the problem.
I don’t see any issues with exposing an Inovelli fan in HA to Homekit with the HomeKit Bridge. My guess (note guess) is that the problem is in the Alexa Integration. I did see a problem with the speed presets (preset_modes) however you can disable them in HA which fixed the issue.
I also do not hav any problem with the homekit bridge. I also had issue in homekit with it creating a bunch of switches but modified it in the homekit yaml to show 3 speeds. I have been discussing it in the alexa integration section of HA. what is strange is when you expose it through the voice assistants it simply doesn’t send the device and there is no logging. all other fans (non matter, non inovelli) expose fine and when i created a template fan (my workaround) i could expose it so there is something odd in the fan definition I would guess but that could also be the HA matter integration. Thanks for you comments! Still hoping a firmware fixes the fan dropouts from the matter fabric that require a reset.
