I’ve used the Blue 2-in-1 for a few months now, and there are occasional flickers (and I’m closely following the thread about there being flickering while dimmed), but starting about a week ago the lights have started to flicker significantly more often. Can be multiple times per second for minutes at a time.
I’ve been swapping back and forth with the original dumb dimmer switch and:
The original dumb dimmer switch has no flickering at all.
The flickering with the Blue switch happens in both the dimmer mode AND the on/off mode.
I have no idea how on/off mode would also flicker, unless the Blue doesn’t actually just short the Line and Load wires together in that mode?
Regardless, the flickering now makes the switch unusable and I don’t know of other troubleshooting steps to do and would like some help.
Is this a simple, single switch circuit (not a multi way)? If so, have you tried the “Switch type” configuration to “Single Pole Full Sine” (right at the bottom of the configuration options). it’s only applicable if the switch is set to On/Off mode.
If that’s the case, what is that click sound when turning it off and on in on/off mode? Sounds to me exactly like how a relay would sound, and in dimmer mode that sound never happens even if it’s doing the full 0 to 100% change.
Looking into it more, I see in the CEO’s post here that he says “The sound you hear is the relay opening and closing (NOTE: You will not hear this click in a non-neutral setting as the relay cannot fully close due to the switch still needing power to operate its Zigbee antenna).”
So it appears that there actually is a relay (and I am using the switch with a neutral wire).

Yes
I have set it to “Single-Pole Full Sine Wave” since day 1
Is it this?
“ActivePowerReports
Percent power level change that will result in a new power report being sent. 0 = Disabled”
I have that set to 0 already, as it was something I read to do when looking into the flickering that has always happened with this switch. My issue is just that the flickering somehow got much worse since last week without me changing anything or adding anything to my zigbee network.
There is a relay. However, the load is still powered through the dimming circuitry at all times. The relay is used with the traveler terminal with “dumb switches” (3 way, non-aux switch) since it has to support flipping between the load/traveler terminals.
Outside of dumb switch mode, the relay is simply clicked for audible purposes, which is why you can disable the relay click while in on/off mode.
